SINGAPORE, 2 September 2015 – Alpha7, a Singapore-based business cloud enabler, has made two C-level appointments to its management team. Joining Alpha7 is Brian Parkinson as Chief Operating Officer, and Kenneth Lim as Chief Marketing Officer. Brian and Kenneth each have over two decades of experience across various roles in global IT organizations. At Alpha7, COO Brian is responsible for business operations, while serving as second-in-command to founder and CEO Lynette Seah. Kenneth is responsible for the marketing and strategy functions. Alpha7 provides best-of-breed cloud technology solutions, along with advisory services and technical expertise for businesses in Singapore and the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.

Lynette Seah, CEO and Founder of Alpha7 said, “Alpha7 is bringing cloud technology solutions to Singapore and regional businesses that helps them drive productivity, enhance their global competitiveness and increase profitability. Bringing Brian and Kenneth, with decades of experience, on board  as senior leaders in IT, operations and marketing, will bolster our go-to-market approach, helping Alpha7 take Fortune500-level technology efficiencies to the Asia-Pacific SME and enterprise realms.”

Brian Parkinson will drive Alpha7’s day-to-day operations, as well as business development functions. Prior to Alpha7, Brian led the Strategy, M&A and Business Development function across APAC, EMEA and LATAM for the IT business unit of Schneider Electric. He brings over twenty years of global IT, operations and business development expertise, and has held senior roles at a number of high profile organizations, including Siebel Systems, Interwoven and JBA International. He is originally from Ireland, before moving to Sydney, Australia, and most recently to Singapore.

Singaporean Kenneth Lim is tasked with driving Alpha7’s marketing and strategy functions. He has held technology roles at Fortune 500 companies, including Microsoft, Salesforce.com and Trend Micro. He was most recently head of marketing for APAC at Anaplan, a cloud-based business modelling and planning platform for sales, operations and finance. Along with Lynette, he was among the first four hires at Salesforce.com APAC. Kenneth was the recipient of the 2015 Golden Globe Tigers leadership award for excellence in marketing and brand leadership.

“It has been a year since Singapore’s ‘Smart Nation’ vision was unveiled, with technology – particularly cloud technology – a key pillar for building the nation beyond its fiftieth anniversary. Outside of Singapore, APAC countries are adopting their own technology vision – the common theme being the rise and rise in the importance of technology in shaping Asia’s future. There has never been a better time for small, medium and large enterprises to embrace cloud. With our strengthened management team and best of breed solutions, we are confident of providing the right platform, solutions and value,” added Lynette.

Frost and Sullivan has named cloud-enabled technologies an integral business pillar for Asia Pacific businesses. It has estimated the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) in value derived from cloud rising by over twenty percent year-on-year, from US$25.7 billion in 2014, to US$65.2 billion in 2019.  Similarly, Market Info Group pegs the cloud computing market for Asia-Pacific growing 21.2% CAGR over 2010 – 2016, generating an aggregate US$28.5 billion over the same period.

Alpha7 was established in January 2014 by Lynette Seah, ex-VP of finance at Salesforce.com in Asia-Pacific. In January 2015, it successfully spun-out Chief Operating Officer as a Service (COOaaS). COOaaS provides COO expertise to businesses on an outsourced, part-time, retainer or project basis. In May 2015, Alpha7 raised S$$3.1 million in seed funding, taking total funding to date to S$3.6 million, including an earlier pre-seed round of S$500,000. Its board members include James Kang, ex-assistant CEO at the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA Singapore), Anurag Srivastava, CEO of Space Matrix Group and Managing Partner at Jungle Ventures, and Alvin Kok, ex-head of Infocomm and cloud computing services at SingTel.
